The resorts of Cπlimπne║ti and Cπciulata lie at the foot of the Fπgπra║ Mountains, on the hills standing on the right bank of the Olt River, near the monasteries of Cozia, Ostrov and Turnu, and the medieval citadel of Sibiu. The main attractions of these resorts are their mineral and thermal waters, rich in sulfur, chlorine, and sodium. The first facilities for balneal turism were establishd only at the beginning of the 20th century, even though the therapeutic qualities of the mineral waters available here were mentioned by the historians of the Roman campaigns in Dacia and later confirmed by the doctors of the French Emperor Napoleon III.
